Toronto Maple Leafs Linked to Yegor Chinakhov Following Shock Trade Request

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Yegor Chinakhov is furious following a healthy scratch, and now, he wants a trade that could benefit the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Yegor Chinakhov is a 24-year-old former 21st overall draft pick who has been showing lots of growth and potential with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
He had 15 points in 30 games last season and had it not been for a back injury, he probably would have been a whole lot more productive.
However, it seems as though his treatment from the team following the back injury has him wanting out of Columbus.
Yegor Chinakhov wants out of Columbus
A new report surfaced on Thursday in which Chinakhov admitted to not seeing eye-to-eye with his head coach. As a result, he would be happy to be traded.
I had some misunderstandings with the coach during the season. Now I would be glad to have a trade. I would like to move to a different location. Will I return to Russia? As long as I can play in the NHL, I will keep developing here @BlueJacketsNHL
According to Aaron Portzline, the Blue Jackets are willing to make the trade, but it has to be at the right price. Not to mention, they believe it is because of the fact that Chinakhov was a healthy scratch when he came back from injury.
#CBJ aware Yegor Chinakhov wants to be traded - and they've had trade talks - but GM Don Waddell said he's not going to simply accept the best offer to appease Chinakhov. Will only move him if he gets an acceptable offer.
Chinakhov plays on the right wing and would be the perfect young player for the Toronto Maple Leafs, as he has the potential to do big things.
The Leafs could stand to get a bit younger, and it seems clear that Chinakhov has a bright future ahead of him.
Of course, the situation in Columbus is certainly a bit of a red flag. But who knows? It could just be a one off.
