Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs are taking on the Ottawa Senators and fans have been waiting to see who would be the starting goalie after some recent roster moves.
Tonight, the Leafs are playing the Senators and it is supposed to be a huge match for a lot of reasons.
Firstly, this is a rivalry game. Secondly, both teams need this for the standings as the Leafs want to build a lead in the Atlantic division while the Senators want a wild-card playoff spot.
As for the starting goalie for tonight's match, the Maple Leafs have decided to go with Joseph Woll which should come as a surprise to no one.
Woll is the better of these two goaltenders right now as he has a goals-against average of 2.69 and a save percentage of .907.
Moreover, he is currently on a three-game winning streak and will be looking to make that four tonight.
When Stolarz eventually returns, it is going to be very interesting to see who wins the starting role. They mostly split the net early in the season but with the playoffs on the horizon, something has got to give.
Woll has been the Leafs' most recent playoff goaltender and while he has been good, he could certainly be better.
This has ultimately led to speculation that Stolarz may very well get the call in a few months from now.
