Toronto Maple Leafs Officially Hire Mark Giordano in New Coaching Role

Former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Mark Giordano has been hanging around training camp, and today, the Leafs officially announced his hiring.
If you are a
Toronto Maple Leafs fan, you certainly appreciate Mark Giordano, who spent the last few years of his career with the Leafs.
Overall, he is an amazing role model to young players, and he is someone who will always have the respect of his peers in the NHL world.
Throughout training camp, fans noticed that Giordano had been hanging around, and it seemed as though he was on the verge of signing a deal to become part of the coaching staff.
Today, the Maple Leafs announced a plethora of hirings, with Giordano being the most high-profile. Going forward, he will be a coach advisor for the Toronto Marlies.
The Maple Leafs announced the following additions to its hockey operations department:
Steven Reinprecht and Eric Lacroix have joined the organization as Pro Scouts.
Mikael Kotkaniemi has joined the organization as a European Amateur Scout.
Mark Giordano has joined the Toronto Marlies as a Coaching Advisor.
The father of
Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Mikael, will now be the European Amateur Scout for the Maple Leafs, which is pretty cool to see.
Elsewhere, Steven Reinprecht and Eric Lacroix were hired as pro scouts who will help dictate the future of this franchise.
Toronto Maple Leafs prepare for the NHL season
All of these moves were made on the same day that the Leafs take on the Montreal Canadiens in their first game of the NHL regular season.
Fans have been waiting months for this game to happen, and now that it is here, there is no denying that there is a whole lot of fanfare.
Only time will tell whether or not this is the season that fans have been hoping for all this time.
