Toronto Maple Leafs Organization Officially Signs 23-Year-Old Goal-Scoring Machine
Over the last couple of weeks, the Toronto Maple Leafs have been putting a lot of effort into signing NCAA players as a way to round out the roster of their AHL affiliate,
the Toronto Marlies.
Insiders have been warning of yet another move by the Toronto Maple Leafs, and on Saturday night, in the midst of a game
against the Los Angeles Kings, that move was announced.
Toronto Marlies get Ryan Kirwan
The Toronto Marlies announced that they had signed
Ryan Kirwan to a two-year deal. For those who may not know, Kirwan had played the previous season with Arizona State University.
In his first season with the team, he scored 26 goals and 39 points in 37 games which is well-beyond the production he enjoyed while playing for Pennsylvania State University.
He is a 6'2" player who has size and skill which is going to be very important for this team as they continue to add a ton of young talents to the team.
This is being considered as a great signing, although it is too early to tell whether or not the 23-year-old is going to make the NHL or not.
The same can be said of Prokop and Haymes, although once again, there is no telling what these guys will be able to accomplish.
One thing is for certain and that is the Leafs are looking to make some big-time moves right now, which is great to see.
This team is clearly hungry to keep things pushing, and you love to see things like that these days.
