Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan has a ton of hype going into training camp, and he is already earning some solid NHL comparisons.
Easton Cowan is setting himself up for a big season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, or the Toronto Marlies, at the very least.
Going into training camp, there is a lot of hype surrounding the forward, and the fans are very excited to see what he is able to do.
Having said that, Cowan is already being compared to some pretty sensational players, and if you are a Leafs fan, you can't help but get ahead of yourself.
Easton Cowan's NHL potential becomes apparent
On the Steve Dangle Podcast, co-host Adam Wylde revealed that some are already comparing Cowan to Travis Konecny.
We don't really know yet but the one comparable I heard from someone who watches a lot of London Knights hockey and knows their stuff, they're like 'If he can become Travis Konecny-lite'.
That's what I think it will be however, that's really good. That's really f****** good. But the idea that he is going to come in and be Mitch Marner, I think that's the idea in some people's heads for some reason.

The conversation then drifted over to Mitch Marner, who some fans are hoping Easton Cowan can replicate.
As Steve Dangle explained, Leafs fans should not be expecting any of that. It's not an apt comparison, and it is putting too much pressure on Cowan.
These aren't apples to apples, I don't think he has the same offensive gifts as Marner.
If you are a fan of the Maple Leafs, then you will certainly be keeping tabs on Cowan as the season goes on.
Whether or not he actually gets some playing time with the team, still remains to be seen.
