Toronto Maple Leafs' Pursuit of Jack Roslovic Takes Dramatic Turn

Free agent forward Jack Roslovic has been waiting for a call from an NHL team, and as of a few weeks ago, the Toronto Maple Leafs were the frontrunners to sign him.
Jack Roslovic of the Carolina Hurricanes is a forward that the Toronto Maple Leafs have reportedly been keeping tabs on for quite some time.
He is a former teammate of Auston Matthews and has the talent to become a Swiss Army Knife on the Maple Leafs roster, as he can play wing and center.
Unfortunately, his hopes of joining the Toronto Maple Leafs were seemingly dashed on Thursday as the Maple Leafs went ahead and traded for Dakota Joshua.
Is Jack Roslovic still coming to the Toronto Maple Leafs?
In many ways, Joshua and Roslovic are the same kind of player, and would be redundant on the roster. The Leafs already have a ton of bottom-six forwards now.
By bringing in Roslovic, they would just be creating more headaches for themselves, as there would be a bottleneck at the bottom of the lineup.

Overall, the Toronto Maple Leafs have had an eventful offseason, even if they haven't acquired anyone to play in their top-six.
While Matias Maccelli will likely get some second-line minutes this season, he is still a bit of a risk as far as top-six guys are concerned.
Regardless, general manager Brad Treliving has made some solid moves, and we are excited to see what he is able to do next.
As for Jack Roslovic, only time will tell whether or not he signs a deal soon. We imagine there are plenty of interested teams.
