Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll is currently on a conditioning stint with the Toronto Marlies, and it could be coming to an end soon.
Joseph Woll took a leave of absence at the start of the NHL season, and since that time, he has been working on himself so that he can return to the Leafs as a mentally healthy goaltender.
Leafs fans are looking forward to his return to the franchise, and as it turns out, we could be seeing Woll back in the lineup a lot sooner than expected.
Joseph Woll to make another start for the Toronto Marlies
According to Luke Fox of Sportsnet, it has been confirmed that Woll will be getting a start against Grand Rapids on Wednesday.
In fact, this game is going to be much more than just one start. Woll is going to play the entire game, which is going to be huge for his development.
Once this game is complete, it is expected that Woll is going to rejoin the Toronto Maple Leafs.
This means we could see Joseph Woll start a game for the Maple Leafs as early as this weekend, although it's important not to get too ahead of yourself.
Woll needs to make sure he is feeling well enough before he can play an NHL game. Otherwise, he may find himself in a rut.
The Leafs really need a tandem partner for
Anthony Stolarz, as the workload has been too much for him. Meanwhile,
Dennis Hildeby still needs work before becoming an NHL guy.
Only time will tell whether or not Woll is the spark this Leafs team needs to get themselves back near the top of the Atlantic Division.
