Toronto Maple Leafs Reportedly Find New Home for David Kampf

David Kampf is one of the forwards that the Toronto Maple Leafs are trying to trade, and there is one team that could potentially use his services.
Unfortunately, there haven't been any takers for either of these two players. The market for them is extremely thin, and it has felt like teams just don't want to give up assets for low production.
Having said that, these players are of NHL caliber, and if the Maple Leafs lower their expectations on a return, they might just be able to open up cap space.
Is David Kampf going to the New Jersey Devils?
According to one source on X, the New Jersey Devils have become the prime destination for David Kampf thanks to their fourth-line situation.
The Maple Leafs could get themselves an AHL player in return, and the Devils would get a roster player that can help them out immediately.
The Devils have cap space and no obvious 4C.
Given a Kampf deal hasn't happened still, I doubt we're looking at any real positive value, but he is a noted Keefe guy.

This feels like an obvious trade at this point, although no one knows for sure whether or not the Maple Leafs are going to make it happen.
Kampf and Jarnkrok could certainly be packaged with the same team, but that would complicate things further. We may just have to wait until the season begins before either is dealt.
Of course, the Leafs could move for a buyout or waivers, but that would be the worst-case scenario.
Hopefully, the Maple Leafs are able to figure out something sooner rather than later.
