The Toronto Maple Leafs have been pursuing Brayden Schenn for quite some time, but now, there seems to be validity to the trade rumors from months ago.
During the trade deadline, one of the players that the Toronto Maple Leafs were interested in was none other than
Brayden Schenn.
Overall, this made a ton of sense as Schenn is one of those centers who can score goals and also help lead a team to a Stanley Cup.
Brayden Schenn to the Toronto Maple Leafs?
While Schenn was not interested in waiving his no-trade clause, his NTC is now becoming a partial one, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
The Leafs and Ottawa Senators have been kicking tires on him as a result. But so far, there is no telling if a trade will really happen.
Brayden Schenn goes from a full no move clause to a partial, and the last couple of years some teams...like Toronto and Ottawa, have poked around him a bit
The Leafs are hoping to make some big moves throughout the offseason, and there is no denying that general manager Brad Treliving wants to make some things happen.
Having said that, it is never easy to make trades, especially when you are low on assets, as the Maple Leafs are.
The offseason will march forward here, and fans can only hope that more signings and deals will be presented.
If nothing else is certain, it is that this is a very unique time to be a fan of the Maple Leafs.
