The NHL playoffs are upon us and the Toronto Maple Leafs will be facing off against the Ottawa Senators in the most hyped first round series we've seen in a while.
Overall, the Battle of Ontario is always a good time and there is no doubt that this is the series everyone has their eyes on.
As the Atlantic Division winners, the Toronto Maple Leafs are the favorites, but don't be mistaken, the Ottawa Senators are a scary team that can cause an upset.
After all, they dominated the Leafs throughout the regular season and there is a real fear amongst Leafs fans that this trend could very well continue.
Toronto Maple Leafs vs Ottawa Senators Game 1
The playoffs are set to begin this weekend with the first series of the playoffs beginning on Saturday. However, most of the series will actually start on Sunday.
This is no different with the Toronto Maple Leafs. According to John Shannon, the Leafs and Senators will play their first game against each other on Easter Sunday.
The game will take place in Toronto and it should be a whole lot of fun. The city is going to be jumping and the fans will be praying for a Game 1 victory.
If you have been following the team this season, you would know that things do feel quite different. The team is firing on all cylinders and the goaltending is on a different level.
Head coach Craig Berube has done a seriously phenomenal job with this team and there is a lot to be excited about moving forward here.
However, the Leafs have been known to disappoint, so no one can really get ahead of themselves here. Instead, it is best to have cautious optimism.
Only time will tell whether or not this is the year that the Maple Leafs go on the playoff run to end all playoff runs.
