Auston Matthews Sends his Toronto Maple Leafs Teammates a Message Before the Playoffs

Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews is more motivated than ever before for his team to go on a deep playoff run and the Ottawa Senators are in the way.
Overall, the Maple Leafs have exceeded regular season expectations by winning the Atlantic Division and doing so with a game to spare.
Some felt like the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lightning were the better teams, however, the Leafs were able to get themselves over the hump with timely wins.
Now, the playoffs are starting on Sunday and the Leafs are set to face off against the Ottawa Senators in what should be a spirited Battle of Ontario.

While many are content with where the Leafs are right now, there is no doubt that Matthews wants more... a whole lot more.
While speaking to the media, the captain admitted that he is proud of his team and how they have played. That said, he wants to see more from them down the stretch here.
I feel really confident in this group. We put in a lot of work over the season. Earning the division was a big step for us, but we just want to continue to push forward
The Leafs have only won one playoff series in the last eight years which is simply not good enough especially as they continue to make the postseason.
As it stands, the Maple Leafs are favorites against the Senators, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. They could still be dismantled if they are not careful.
All four offensive lines need to be clicking and all three defensive pairings need to be stout. Some good goaltending would also help.
No matter what, the Leafs have the right mentality and it does feel like this time truly is different.
