Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube has been fielding questions about Oliver Ekman-Larsson who is currently out of the lineup with an injury.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson has missed the last few games with an injury of sorts and there has been some concern about when exactly he will return to the lineup.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson status against the Ottawa Senators
Recently, head coach Craig Berube was asked about Oliver Ekman-Larsson and whether or not he believes the defenseman will play Game 1 against the Ottawa Senators.
Berube noted that he is, indeed, expected to play. However, there is always a chance he won't be able to and that the team must get prepared for that possibility.
"That is a good question. I mean, I expect him to play, but you never know. He is tough. He will play through things. If he is not in the lineup, someone else is going to have to step up. That is the bottom line. That is part of the playoffs."
Thankfully,
Dakota Mermis has been sensation replacing OEL and
Jake McCabe. Meanwhile, other defenseman have also stood up.
The Leafs are playing amazing hockey going into the postseason and there are plenty of reasons to be excited about this team's prospects.
The Senators will make for an amazing first-round series and we're sure all of the fans out there are eager to see it play out.
However, getting all of their players back and healthy will be crucial in ensuring these playoffs go smoothly. Otherwise, things can go south very quickly.
