Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. just helped his team get to the World Series, and as it turns out, the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to benefit.
Last night, the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 of the ALCS. This means the Blue Jays will now play against the Los Angeles Dodgers for the World Series.
Overall, this is a massive accomplishment. The Blue Jays have not made the World Series in 32 years. The last time they did so, they ended up winning the World Series for the second season in a row.
However, going into Game 7, fans thought that the Blue Jays had jinxed themselves thanks to Vladimir Guerrero Jr's pre-game attire.

As you can see below, Vlad was wearing an
Auston Matthews jersey. Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs have never won a Game 7 in the Core Four era.
With that in mind, there was this sense that the Blue Jays were therefore cursed and would wind up losing the game in spectacular fashion.
Of course, that did not happen, and according to Blue Jays manager John Schneider, this may have just lifted the Maple Leafs' curse, once and for all.
I think Vladdy broke the curse by wearing
Auston Matthews' jersey here today.
Toronto Maple Leafs fans should not get too ahead of themselves. After all, anything can happen going forward. The Leafs actually need to show that they can win when the lights are brightest.
However, if you are from Toronto, then this Blue Jays stuff is very exciting. The World Series is coming to the Six.
Only time will tell whether or not the Blue Jays can defeat the Dodgers and become a true David Vs. Goliath story.
