Toronto Maple Leafs forward Scott Laughton has been out of the lineup with a lower-body injury, and over the past couple of weeks, updates have been sparse.
Scott Laughton is a player that Toronto Maple Leafs fans were looking forward to watching this season, and for very good reason.
While his performance last season wasn't fantastic, there was this sense that he would be able to turn things around in 2024-25, especially with
Easton Cowan and
Steven Lorentz as his linemates.
When is Scott Laughton returning to the Maple Leafs?
Luckily, Darren Dreger was on TSN 1050 on Monday, where he was asked directly about the Scott Laughton situation and whether or not the forward would be coming back anytime soon.
It led to a hopeful answer, as the insider noted that Laughton will be back in about 10 days from now. This is huge, although it will likely lead to a forward being sent down.
I believe he's penciled in for the first of November
The likely victim of Laughton coming back will be Sammy Blais. Although we imagine
Calle Jarnkrok may also be demoted from the lineup.
Nick Robertson is another player at risk, and it is a big reason why some believe the Leafs just need to get it over with and trade him.
Whether or not Laughton plays well upon his return remains to be seen. There is truly no telling whether or not he can be the player fans want him to be.
His performance last season was very disappointing, but if he gets his stuff together, then there is no denying that he can become one of the team's most popular players.
