William Nylander Approaches Monumental Milestone But his Mind is Somewhere Else

Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander has been on a tear this season and while the personal accolades are nice, he has something else on his mind.
William Nylander is easily one of the best players on the Toronto Maple Leafs this season as he has been sensational when it comes to getting goals at a rapid pace.
He currently has 44 goals which is career-high and if he averages one goal per game until the end of the season, he will finish with 50, which is a massive achievement.
That journey can start on Tuesday against the Florida Panthers, however, it seems like the forward doesn't actually care about this achievement, whatsoever.
William Nylander gives his take on the playoffs
While speaking to the media, he noted that he can get to the 50 goal mark if he keeps shooting the puck and doing all of the right things.
However, he mainly just wants to make the playoffs and win some games en route to a Stanley Cup. Clearly, the man has the right priorities.
"Just gotta try to keep shooting the puck. But like I said before, the most important thing is to win the games here going forward and get our game ready for the playoffs."
This mentality from William Nylander proves that the Maple Leafs are a much different team this season and you love to see it.
In the past, the Leafs would crater at this point in the season although now, all they want to do is succeed in the playoffs.
It has been phenomenal to see and we hope this is a sign of good things to come over the coming weeks and months.
Hopefully, William Nylander and the Leafs keep this up and prove to the fans that they won't be satisfied with being called playoff chokers.
