Analyst reveals the Toronto Maple Leafs' playoff chances have never been lower

The Toronto Maple Leafs have lost two-straight games to the Carolina Hurricanes and the Boston Bruins, which has led to some issues in the Atlantic Division.
Last night was a bad one for the
Toronto Maple Leafs as they lost to the Carolina Hurricanes by a score of 5-4. The night before, they lost 5-3 to the Boston Bruins.
Overall, the Maple Leafs have been mediocre to start the season. They have a record of 8-7-1 and are sixth in the Atlantic Division.
While it is still early in the season, they will have to start going on some real winning streaks if they actually want to make the playoffs.
Toronto Maple Leafs may not make the playoffs
According to Dom Luszczyszyn, the Leafs' odds of making it to the playoffs have actually hit a new low, and it is very concerning.
In fact, according to the analyst, the Leafs' playoff odds have not been this low since all the way back in 2016-17, when the Core Four was just getting started.
Toronto's playoff chances fall to 48 percent after last night. First time since 16-17 that I've had the Leafs under 50 percent to make the playoffs.
This is very bad news for the Maple Leafs. In fact, it just goes to show how valuable
Mitch Marner was to this franchise.
If you are a Maple Leafs fan, you have to be concerned when you see statistics like this. Of course, things can change, but this is all very bad news right now.
The Maple Leafs play against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night, and this could prove to be a good time for the Leafs to get back on track.
However, if they lose again, then we might just see a whole lot of anger from Leafs Nation, and perhaps some panic moves.
