Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews is currently dealing with some injury problems, and now, a former player on the team is calling him out for lying.
Auston Matthews has had some injury issues since the start of the NHL season, and while he did come back for some time, he has not been able to stay on the ice for a significant amount of time.

However, there has been some confusion, and some sources have reported that the injury stemmed from a cross-check sustained against the Buffalo Sabres.
While speaking to reporter JD Bunkis, former Maple Leafs star Kris Versteeg attempted to poke some holes in Matthews' story.
Versteeg believes that Matthews actually sustained a new injury, and that he is currently lying to both the media and the fans.
"He got that cross-check right on the lower back into the side iliac crest area. And to me, that's a new injury."
Whether or not this is an injury that keeps Matthews out of the lineup for a long time, still remains to be seen.
The Leafs are currently trying to keep him out of the lineup so that he can get himself right in time for the postseason.
No matter what, the franchise will have to get this figured out before it is too late.
If they go without Matthews in the postseason, then it will be a disaster.
