Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid has been negotiating a new contract extension with the franchise, and it has become official just days before the season opener.
Connor McDavid was on the Toronto Maple Leafs' radar for months, as it was becoming clear that the forward was having his doubts about the Edmonton Oilers.
However, in recent days, the captain has been negotiating a contract extension, and with the season opener on the horizon, Oilers fans were hoping that it would get done.
Well, just moments ago, it was confirmed by Frank Seravalli that McDavid had signed a deal with the Oilers that will keep him with the team for the foreseeable future.
At this time, the McDavid extension has not received a dollar amount, and we do not currently know the term either.
Having said that, the Oilers will certainly be happy about this, as it means they don't have to hit the panic button going into the summer.
