Craig Berube's Latest Comments Prove that He's Scared of his Own Players

Craig Berube was known for being a pretty strict head coach, all things considered. However, after Game 5 against the Florida Panthers, it is clear that he is watching what he says.

When the St. Louis Blues had bad games, he was never shy to call them out and say how he truly felt about the performances.

But if you were to read his comments from these recent games, you would come away not even recognizing who this coach even is.

Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner were absolutely horrible on Wednesday. Instead of ripping them to shreds for their awful effort, Berube chose to take the high road.

The comments were obvious and lacked the passion that we would typically see from Berube in these kinds of bad situations. Having said that, it would appear as though perhaps the coach has been told not to go so hard on the superstars.

If that is indeed true, then that is absolutely brutal. It shows that the Leafs superstars are sensitive and don't actually care about winning. Just their ego.

Only time will tell whether or not Craig Berube can get through to any of these guys behind closed doors. Game 6 is coming up and something needs to be done and or said.

At this point, it is hard to be a Leafs fan. Down 3-2 after a 6-1 loss on home ice does not inspire very much confidence, whatsoever.
