Craig Berube Makes Hilarious Suggestion as Toronto Maple Leafs Relegated to Five Defensemen

Today at practice, the Toronto Maple Leafs got an extra helping of bad news when it comes to some of their most important defenseman.

Firstly, it was revealed that Jake McCabe would not practice with the team and would not play this weekend either as he deals with an undisclosed injury.

Meanwhile, Oliver Ekman-Larsson wasn't a participant at practice either and it was revealed that he will not be in the lineup against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.

Although he might get to play against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday, which is a nice consolation all things considered.

This has unfortunately put the Maple Leafs at a huge disadvantage for tomorrow's game. According to reports, the team will only get to suit up five defenseman which is very much not a good thing, at all.

Craig Berube spoke about this reality after practice and had a hilarious suggestion as he proclaimed that he should get on the ice and play with the team.

Of course, that won't happen, neither is it allowed. But the there is no doubt that the team could use some help especially as they go up against a very motivated Canadiens squad.

Only time will tell whether or not the Leafs can overcome this deficit and show that they are team to be reckoned with.

Hopefully, they win and get themselves closer to securing that elusive Atlantic Division title.
