Darren Dreger Drops Bombshell Mitch Marner Report and it's Good News For the Leafs

Mitch Marner and the Toronto Maple Leafs have been theorized to be on the brink of a divorce. After a decade of limited playoff success, some have argued it is time to part ways.

However, the superstar forward had a career-high 102 points last season, and his value has never been higher.

Teams will be looking to throw insane amounts of money at him, and there is a real fear that the Leafs won't be able to replace his production during the offseason.

However, a new report from Darren Dreger suggests that Leafs fans shouldn't succumb to a bunch of doom and gloom just yet.

As he told TSN 1050, Marner's camp is planning on considering offers from the Toronto Maple Leafs. Of course, the Leafs would have to make an offer to begin with. Having said that, this shows that Mitch is still interested in being a Leaf, for the right price.

A report came out last week suggesting that Mitch Marner rejected a $13.5 million AAV deal with the Leafs during the regular season.

The forward could probably get that elsewhere in a location that wouldn't charge him as much for taxes. With that being said, the Leafs may have to offer him $14 million per season to be competitive.

The Las Vegas Golden Knights, the Florida Panthers, and the Utah Mammoth are all teams that are supposedly at the top of Marner's wishlist.

Overall, the interest from these teams seems mutual. Although we cannot imagine the backlash if Mitch decides to go to a rival like the Panthers, who just made their third-straight Stanley Cup Final.
