Free Agency is less than two days away, and according to Darren Dreger of TSN, the Toronto Maple Leafs have some big plans, with Brad Treliving leading the charge.
Overall, the Maple Leafs have quite a few targets in mind, and those targets seem to have a mutual interest, which is great news for general manager Brad Treliving.
Recently, Darren Dreger released a report about the Maple Leafs' free agency plans, and he revealed what the team hopes to do as soon as they are officially allowed to talk to players.
Toronto Maple Leafs free agency plans
The Leafs are willing to sign him for four years, and they have no issue paying $8 million per season to put him as one of their top line wingers.
If
Brad Marchand hits the open market, and that seems less likely given the
Sam Bennett news, Bill Zito is hard at it the Toronto Maple Leafs would consider Brad Marchand their top priority.
Marchand plays on the right wing, so he would be a great replacement for
Mitch Marner. While he might be 37, he is a lot more productive in the postseason, which is what the Leafs need.
Overall, Marchand is a pipe dream right now, and if we had to guess, he is going to return to the Panthers. However, there is always a chance he decides otherwise.
Either way, this upcoming week is going to be extremely important for the franchise, and we cannot wait to see what Treliving cooks up.
If they can get some signings done on Tuesday, then they will be in a good position for the summer ahead.
