Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner was the victim of a headshot on Sunday night as Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov acted with reckless abandon.
Last night was a rough one for the
Toronto Maple Leafs as they got completely shutout by the Florida Panthers in Game 4 of their second-round series.
Case in point, we saw a huge hit from Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov on Maple Leafs superstar Mitch Marner that might raise some eyebrows.
Dmitry Kulikov destroys Mitch Marner
As you can see in the video down below, Kulikov makes a run at Marner with his elbow up, and he certainly makes contact.
However, it was not the contact that Kulikov was probably hoping for as Marner was able to get up and continue moving as though nothing had happened.
Regardless, these kinds of players are extremely dangerous and the league needs to start taking this stuff seriously before someone gets hurt.
Mitch Marner has been the victim of this nonsense all series long and guys like
Sam Bennett have taken out goaltender
Anthony Stolarz.
There comes a point where this stuff needs to be policed by the NHL in a way that is going to deter guys from running around like absolute goons.
However, for now, the Toronto Maple Leafs are just going to need to focus on their game and re-taking the lead in this series.
Game 5 goes down on Wednesday in Toronto and this is a great opportunity to regroup and take a 3-2 lead.
