Toronto Maple Leafs forward Easton Cowan is going to make his NHL debut against the Detroit Red Wings, and he will get to do so on the team's first line.

Earlier today, Toronto Maple Leafs fans found themselves in a state of jubilation thanks to a report that confirmed how Easton Cowan will make his NHL debut on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Red Wings.
No one expected him to take this kind of leap, but the fans sure are content to see it happen. The kid has been working hard, and he is getting rewarded.

Easton Cowan is ready for the moment

With that being said, Cowan spoke to reporters after practice today, and it was here that he was asked about the pressures of making his debut.
The kid delivered an extremely mature answer, noting how he feels like he is ready for the moment. Additionally, he is excited to have family in town.
I feel like I'm ready for this, so I'm just gonna take it all in, enjoy it, and have some fun

I'm just excited to play and to have my family and friends come support me, and obviously I wouldn't be here without them.
After winning the Memorial Cup with the London Knights, Cowan is looking to show that he has what it takes to excel at the NHL level.
It is not going to be easy, but if anyone can prove themselves, it would most certainly be him.
Overall, we are excited to see Cowan in action, and after a poor game against the Wings, the Leafs will be best served with that youthful energy in tow.
Whether or not the Maple Leafs can come through and have a bounce-back performance, still remains to be seen.
