Elliotte Friedman Proposes 1-for-1 Nick Robertson Trade

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson could be traded soon, and according to Elliotte Friedman, Yegor Chinakhov could end up being the return.
Nick Robertson has a new contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, although there are no guarantees that he will stay with the team long-term.
His deal is for just one year, and there have also been discussions about Robertson potentially being traded before the season even starts.
Bryan Rust is one potential trade target, but there is another hiding out in Columbus who may very well be the perfect player to replace Robertson.
Nick Robertson for Yegor Chinakhov?
Of course, we are talking about Yegor Chinakhov who previously expressed interest in being traded by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Recently, Elliotte Friedman spoke about this rumor and whether or not it was actually feasible. As it turns out, Chinakhov is, indeed, on the market, but the Leafs likely have to give up more than just Robertson.

Chinakhov is a player that would be a bit of a lateral move compared to Robertson, but the Leafs would be acquiring him for the potential of what he becomes.
Of course, this is a bit of a stretch, all things considered, and there is no telling whether or not this is a move the franchise is keen to make.
Whatever the case may be, the Leafs are looking like a team with an abundance of bottom-six assets, and Robertson is one of them.
Over the coming weeks, it will be interesting to see how the Leafs adapt and fix up their team.
