During the latest episode of
'32 Thoughts,' Elliotte Friedman noted that he believes the Golden Knights are the big favorites to get Marner right now.
However, he did concede that the Carolina Hurricanes are looking to make a big play for the forward. In fact, he believes they are going all-in. Whatever that means, remains to be seen.
"I'm watching Vegas"; "Carolina is expected to push all chips into the pot"
The Hurricanes tried to acquire Marner at the trade deadline, but he refused to waive his no-trade clause. As a result, it's difficult to imagine Marner signing there.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to have to find a way to replace Mitch Marner, who had 102 points last season.
Needless to say, this is going to be an extremely unique summer, with plenty of storylines to follow.
Marner is going to be the biggest of those storylines, and we're sure Maple Leafs fans are eager to see how all of this ends up playing out.
