Former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Calle Rosen is on the move yet again, as an Eastern Conference and Western Conference team paired up for a deal.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have had numerous players come and go from the organization over the years, including defenseman
Calle Rosen.
Rosen was an undrafted free agent for the Leafs, who played a total of 12 games with the organization, all while winning a Calder Cup with the Marlies back in 2018.
Since his time with the Leafs, he has bounced around the hockey world. He spent time with the St. Louis Blues and even the Colorado Avalanche.
However, this summer, he was signed by the Washington Capitals. Unfortunately, he was unable to play any games with the Caps, and his AHL career has been on hold as well.
Thankfully, Rosen found some relief this week as he was part of a trade that is sending him back to the Blues organization, hopefully, once and for all.
Meanwhile, the Capitals are getting defenseman Corey Schueneman in return. It's a low-key trade, with very little impact. Although, it does have some relevance to Leafs fans who remember Rosen.
Over the past few seasons, the defenseman has been bouncing around the AHL, looking to find himself a spot on an NHL roster.
He has played 93 games in his career and has 31 points. It shows that he has offensive talent and should not be discarded by teams.
However, at 31 years old, it is going to be hard for the defenseman to truly get the momentum necessary to get back onto an NHL roster.
Whatever the case may be, we do wish him well as he enters this next stage of his career.
