Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matias Maccelli has not been on it to start the season, and with Bobby McMann also struggling, a tough decision was made.

Matias Maccelli had a difficult season with the Utah Mammoth in 2024-25, as he only managed a total of 18 points after having 57 points the season before.
When he was traded to the Leafs, there was this school of thought that he would immediately become a stud, especially when placed on the first or second line.
Maccelli has gotten off to a slow start with the Leafs, as he currently has five points in the first 12 games. He's not the worst player, but certainly not the best.
Going into tonight's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, it was suspected that Bobby McMann would be a healthy scratch.
After all, McMann has zero points in the last eight games. As it turns out, that's still not bad enough for head coach Craig Berube to take him out of the lineup.

Matias Maccelli out, Bobby McMann in

According to Luke Fox of Sportsnet, Matias Maccelli was the unlucky one, as he now draws out of the lineup, and Bobby McMann is back in.
McMann will play on the third line with forwards Dakota Joshua and Nicolas Roy.
Tonight's game will be broadcast on Amazon Prime as part of the Monday Night Hockey series.
There are going to be a ton of eyeballs on this one, and if one thing is for certain, it is that the fans are going to be hoping for a big game from McMann.
If he goes without a point again, then it is very likely that he will be out of the lineup on Wednesday.
