Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews helped the team mount an improbable comeback on Monday, although there is still a lot to be concerned about.

Last night could have been absolutely disastrous for the Toronto Maple Leafs as they were down 3-0 to the Pittsburgh Penguins after two periods.
Somehow, the Maple Leafs were able to mount an impressive comeback and defeat the Penguins by a score of 4-3, with the help of Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and Bobby McMann.
While it was a win to remember and celebrate, there are certainly some out there who feel as though this was a complete and utter disaster.
Craig Berube was brutally honest with his team after the game, noting that they can't play terribly for 40 minutes and expect to still win every time.

Auston Matthews won't let his teammates off the hook

Meanwhile, Auston Matthews had a similar sentiment. While speaking to reporters, he noted that the win is cool, but the focus for the team has to be on those first two periods.
It was great to come back & get the two points & have a great 3rd period. I think the focus should be more on the first two periods & why we lacked all those different things that got us down in the game in the first place. It's something we'll figure out.

The Maple Leafs are going to be playing against the Utah Mammoth on Wednesday, and that will be a sizeable test of what this team can do.
Fans are going to want to see a much better start from the Leafs, as they look to secure their first three-game winning streak of the season.
On Saturday, they will get to play the Boston Bruins, and that will also be a huge test for this Maple Leafs squad.
Moving forward, it is going to be fascinating to see whether or not the Leafs can get over this hump in which they have had very little identity in their game.
