Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Josh Leivo has been an absolute stud in the KHL for Ufa Salavat Yulayev and he just broke the league's scoring record.

After being drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs back in 2011, Josh Leivo didn't exactly have the most fruitful career with the team.
Although he did play some solid seasons with the team, he ended up bouncing around between the NHL and the AHL, which left him wanting more out of his career.
Over the past couple of seasons, Leivo has been playing in the KHL for Ufa Salavat Yulayev and in his second campaign with the team, he has proven to be one of the best players in the entire league.

Josh Leivo lights it up in the KHL

Well today, in his final attempt of the season, the former Maple Leaf was able to break the record once and for all as he scored on a partial break to get his 49th goal in his 62nd game.
He also finished the season with 80 points which puts him nine points behind the KHL all-time single season record.
Canadian forward Josh Leivo has broken the KHL record for most goals in a single regular season with 49. He finished the year with 80 points in 62 GP, most in the KHL and 9 shy of the record.
One has to wonder if his performance this season will get him some looks back home in the NHL. Or, perhaps this success will make him want to stick around in the KHL.
Either way, it is cool to see a Canadian player go overseas and become a superstar in this capacity. It just goes to show that these kinds of things are very much possible.
Only time will tell what Leivo decides to do with his career and whether or not he can keep up this production.
