Toronto Maple Leafs Make Eye-Opening Starting Goalie Announcement Against the Nashville Predators

Joseph Woll and Anthony Stolarz have made for a great tandem in goal for the Leafs but at a certain point, one of these guys has to be anointed as the starting goalie for the playoffs.

There is no telling when this is going to finally happen, however, there is no doubt that Woll has been the better goalie over the past few games, especially considering his 38-save performance against the Colorado Avalanche.

The following night, Anthony Stolarz played decent against the New York Rangers, securing a win and stopping 27 of 30 shots on goal.

Tonight, the Leafs are playing the Nashville Predators and head coach Craig Berube has made a decision on who will be getting the net.

According to David Alter of the Hockey News, Woll has been chosen as the netminder between the pipes for this game.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will get some days off after this game as their next one is on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Flyers. On Thursday, they get the San Jose Sharks.

Needless to say, they are getting some weaker teams right now which is good when you consider how this team is currently in the fight for the Atlantic Division title.

They are going up against the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lightning which is no easy task. You have to put your best foot forward and playing a low strength of schedule helps you do that.

A win tonight would give the Maple Leafs a four-game winning streak and it would certainly give the team even more momentum as we reach the final 10 games of the NHL season.

As for Joseph Woll, he has yet another opportunity to win the net from Anthony Stolarz.
