Former Toronto Maple Leafs Forward is Currently Making Brad Treliving Look Silly

The Toronto Maple Leafs made a few trades at the deadline and there is one that Brad Treliving is probably annoyed with given the forward's recent production.
In 54 games as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs,
Connor Dewar was only able to manage a single goal, and it came at the tail end of last season.
He didn't score a goal with the team this season and when the trade deadline came around, general manager Brad Treliving was ready to make a move that was a long-time coming.
Timmins was a seventh defenseman and Dewar was a frequent healthy scratch, so no one was extremely sad to see these players leave the team.
However, since being traded to the Penguins, the struggling fourth-line forward has somehow blossomed into a star of sorts as his production has completely taken off.
In all fairness to the Toronto Maple Leafs, they are an organization with a lot more depth which means Dewar was always going to struggle for both playing time and production.
However, to see him thriving like this is also a slap in the face to Treliving, who likely won't get much out of those draft picks the Penguins are sending his way.
Whatever the case may be, you can't help but at least be a little bit happy for Dewar as he tries to remain in the NHL. Players like him can be here one day and gone tomorrow, so it's always fun to see a guy earn his keep.
Hopefully, his time with the Penguins continues to be fruitful. We just wish he had played like this in Toronto.
