Ex-Toronto Maple Leafs forward Jimmy Vesey has been having some struggles in the NHL, and as a result, he has decided to make a huge move in his career.
Jimmy Vesey played half a season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and if you are a fan of the team, then you probably remember that it was not a fruitful season.
That said, in free agency, the forward was struggling to find a new job, and it led to a drastic decision that probably weighed on him heavily before making it.
Jimmy Vesey leaves the NHL
According to reports, Vesey has decided to leave the NHL and join Geneve-Servette of the Swiss National League.
This is one of those decisions that can completely alter the trajectory of someone's career, but it could prove to be a huge positive, especially if he has a monster season.
Usually, when a player goes overseas, they never come back. But there are rare occasions where they come back to America better than ever.
Only time will tell what happens next for Vesey going forward. He has some potential, but there is no doubt he was overhyped out of college.
His rookie contract was covered in fanfare, and no one really knew what to make of him. But in the end, the hype was for naught.
As for the Toronto Maple Leafs, they don't need to worry about any of this.
Instead, the team will be focused on the coming weeks, as they look to add more players to their team to make themselves a true contender.
