What's wrong with Toronto Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews?
I mean, it's been fine. I think you always want to play better. Obviously you want to score, but the opportunities are there.
Head coach Craig Berube agrees with Matthews' assessment of himself, noting that the captain is getting plenty of shots on goal and is still buzzing around the net.
I mean, he's playing pretty well. I mean, he had six shots last night (vs. Seattle), three or four of them were very dangerous. I mean, they'll go in.
Sometimes, guys just go through scoring slumps, however, Matthews' injuries this season certainly give fans something to worry about.
One can't help but feel like the lack of scoring is somehow related to the issues he dealt with at the start of the season. After all, the last time Matthews scored was back on January 22nd.
The 4 Nations Face-Off is coming up and Matthews will be the captain of Team USA. This is a tournament some felt like the captain should bow out from.
Now, he is set to take part in what could be a risky endeavor, especially when you consider how these games don't mean much in the grand scheme of things.
