Maple Leafs Forward John Tavares Hits Yet Another Major Milestone in Back-to-Back Games

John Tavares has been an exemplary player since signing his deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs almost a decade ago.

Overall, the Leafs have been a better franchise with him on the roster and this Summer, the team will have to sign him to a new deal as his contract officially expires.

Throughout this season, Tavares has proven that he still has the juice as coming into tonight's game, he had 29 goals and 60 points.

In fact, a couple of nights ago against the New York Rangers, Tavares scored two goals and an assist which gave him his 1100th point of his career. It was a mega achievement and everyone on the team was happy for him.

Tonight, the veteran forward hit yet another major milestone as he opened the scoring and got his 30th goal of the season. Hitting 30 goals is always special but this latest instance was even more impressive.

Why? Well, it just so happens that this is the seventh time in Tavares' career that he has been able to hit 30 goals.

The Leafs are now up 2-0 in this game and with the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers losing, the Leafs have a chance to get first place in the Atlantic Division.

John Tavares will be very important for the Maple Leafs as they embark on this journey to get some playoff success.

It hasn't always been easy for the Maple Leafs in this regard and the fans are going to be hoping for something to cheer about.

Tavares is on a tear this season and if anyone can rally this team to greatness, it will be him, even if his captaincy was taken from him.
