Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies has been dealing with offer sheet rumors and it appears as though he has made a choice, according to reports.
With 29 goals and 55 points this season, Matthew Knies has proven to the hockey world that he is an exceptional talent who can be a huge contributor on a Cup contender.
However, the Maple Leafs are already being forced into a bad position with the forward as he is currently in a contract year.
Since he is a restricted free agent, he could be the subject of an offer sheet and there has been this fear amongst Leafs fans that Knies is going to sign one if he gets one.

Today, Chris Johnston came out with a report that is going to make Toronto Maple Leafs fans feel a lot better.
Essentially, Knies and his agent have no interest in an offer sheet. Instead, they want to make sure a deal gets done with the Leafs.
Matthew Knies isn't really interested in entertaining an offer sheet this summer. That's not something he or his agent are pursuing heading into the offseason. On top of that, the Leafs feel they have enough cap space to get their business done this summer.
It all starts with Mitch Marner. What happens with the pending UFA will shape the rest-once that's sorted, the decision on Knies will follow. Whether it's a long-term or short-term deal, and how much money is left, will depend on that. But as of now, the Leafs are in a strong position to sign him. And if an offer sheet does come in, they'd likely match it.

The Leafs also have to sign John Tavares and Mitch Marner, although Marner is the priority. Knies and Tavares would end up getting whatever is left over.
One thing to note is that the Leafs will match any offer sheet sent Knies' way, which also should make fans feel a lot better about things.
