Overall, AHL teams usually have a bloat on the roster. There are players who don't play every single game and there are even some guys who are very clearly never going to get called up to the NHL.
The Toronto Marlies are no exception when it comes to this phenomenon as they have their fair share of players who are never going to get an NHL shot.
With that in mind, you cannot blame these players for wanting to leave and explore professional opportunities elsewhere.
Toronto Maple Leafs on the verge of losing players
According to a source, the Toronto Marlies are set to lose Zach Solow and Joseph Bandisi this summer as the Mannheim Eagles want to make a move.
These are two forwards who aren't exactly on the Maple Leafs' radar when it comes to making some call-ups.
Will the Eagles secure a Toronto double? According to the always well-informed "Mannheimer Morgen," Mannheim is close to signing strikers Zach Solow and Joseph Blandisi from the AHL's Toronto Marlies.
Moreover, it was revealed that Nicolas Mattinen is also someone who could be on his way out of the Toronto Marlies.
Same source also has Marlies' D Nicolas Mattinen linked to Mannheim; so it could end up being a trio of Marlies headed there this off-season
Ultimately, the Leafs organization has some decisions to make. On the bright side, moving players out means they can bring more young prospects in.
