Following a Game 7 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk made a surprise appearance on Spittin' Chiclets.
Matthew Tkachuk and the Florida Panthers absolutely destroyed the
Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday night in what was a terrible Game 7 for the Leafs franchise.
Paul Maurice has stated as such, and now, Tkachuk is joining in on that discourse as he spoke to the guys on Spittin' Chiclets this morning.
Matthew Tkachuk talks Toronto Maple Leafs
During his interview, Tkachuk noted that he believes the Toronto Maple Leafs have a truly special team and that the media is hard to deal with.
In fact, Tkachuk believes that if the same group of players didn't have to deal with the Toronto market, then they would have a lot more success.
«If their team was not in Toronto dealing with all the crazy circus stuff outside of it, they'd be an unbelievable team. I feel bad. We don't have to deal with that in Florida.»
While it is easy to see the argument being made by Matthew Tkachuk, at some point, the players need to show some mental toughness.
This version of the Leafs has not had that, and it is clear that some guys will just never live up to the market, which is unfortunate.
Having said that, the Florida Panthers now get to take on the Carolina Hurricanes in what should be a spirited Eastern Conference Finals.
The winner of that series will then play the Edmonton Oilers or the Dallas Stars in the Stanley Cup Finals.
