Paul Maurice Makes Ridiculous Comment About the Toronto Maple Leafs After Game 7 Blowout

Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice has been making some truly baffling comments throughout the Toronto Maple Leafs series, and Game 7 was no exception.
Overall, Paul Maurice is someone who knows what it takes to win at the highest level. After all, his Florida Panthers were able to get it done last season.
On Sunday night, the Panthers got it done again, this time in a Game 7 against the
Toronto Maple Leafs.

However, after the game, instead of just talking about how his team is made for the moment, Maurice decided to defend the Leafs for some odd reason, just like he did after Game 5.
While accosting the media, Maurice made the claim that the Leafs played well in Game 7 and that they did not deserve to be killed in the media. Ultimately, it is hard to agree with that assessment.
"So much closer than you think but you're gonna kill those guys and they don't deserve it."
The Leafs were not good in the first 10 minutes of the game, and they were even worse in the second period, where they gave up three bad goals.
Joseph Woll gave up three bad goals, and the Leafs' forwards were absolutely abysmal. Even
Morgan Rielly needs to be re-evaluated after this game.
Perhaps Maurice just wants his team's win to look more impressive if he says that the Leafs were good. But everyone watching knows the real truth.
Only time will tell whether or not the franchise keeps this core together or if they end up getting thrown in the bin come free agency. Either way, fans want a change.
