Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi has had a difficult season so far, although last night's performance against the Calgary Flames is certainly one to remember.

Max Domi opened the season with just one goal in the first nine games and zero assists. So far, it has mostly been a continuation of his struggles last season, when he had eight goals and 33 points.
However, last night was a phenomenal outing for the Toronto Maple Leafs forward. He had two goals, including a game-winner against the Calgary Flames.
It was the kind of game that a player needs in order to get their confidence back, while also getting back into their head coach's good graces.

Max Domi is taking nothing for granted with the Toronto Maple Leafs

After the game, Domi spoke to the media, and it was here that we got a true sense of what his priorities are when it comes to the game of hockey.
He made it absolutely clear that the accolades and the personal achievements are not what excite him. Instead, it is getting the win with the boys.
We won (vs. Calgary), so nothing else matters, man. Honestly, you're not going to get much in terms of the individual stuff. That stuff is so irrelevant. It's a long season, and we need everyone.

So every night there's going to be someone else that steps up, gets some bounces here and there. But we're a group that relies on every single guy in this room.
Having said that, the Leafs could still use some individual production from him, especially when you consider how much they are paying him every season.
Last year was bad, and the team is expecting him to be better. If he doesn't improve from last year, then the team may have no choice but to get rid of him.
Regardless, last night against the Flames was a great start. Tonight, against the Columbus Blue Jackets, he should strive to do it all over again.
If he can, then this might be the start of an awesome stretch for Domi, who is yearning to get back on the first line.
