Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri was recently snubbed by Hockey Canada, and as you can imagine, he has some thoughts about that.
While the Toronto Maple Leafs are interested, Kadri has remained steadfast in the idea that he would love to remain with the Flames.
Now, however, Kadri has bigger fish to fry. Recently, he was left out of the 42-player invitation list for Team Canada's Olympic team.
Nazem Kadri snubbed by Team Canada
No one really expected Kadri to be on the team, especially since he hasn't played on Olympic teams in the past. Sure, he has solid production, but it is hard to imagine what his fit would be.
Having said that, the forward seems to be a bit upset about his situation. He recently took to social media with a plethora of question marks in regards to the snub.
Overall, Kadri is a really good player, but as we said, making the Olympic team is not an easy task, and there has to be a fit for you.
Furthermore, the team is mostly going to be comprised of guys who were around for the 4 Nations Face-Off. Canada won that tournament so it makes sense they want the status quo.
Kadri will instead get a few weeks off in February, which isn't so bad if you really think about it.
Regardless, you can't help but feel as though Kadri was snubbed and disrespected here given just how good of a player he's been.
