Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews is ready for a big season with the team, and as it stands, he is looking to make sure he bounces back from last year.
It was hard to watch Matthews at times, especially in the postseason, where his scoring touch was almost nowhere to be found.
However, going into next season, it does feel like the captain is about to reach new heights, and we mean that in the best way possible.
There have been various examples of Matthews showing people that his injury is no longer affecting him. He has been taking to the ice, and his offseason training is ramping up.
For instance, the forward recently got on the ice with Clayton Keller of the Utah Mammoth, and he seemed to be doing just fine and in his element.
This is going to be an incredible season for Matthews as he will now be looking to carry the Toronto Maple Leafs to a big bounce-back season.
Furthermore, Matthews will be the captain of Team USA at the Olympics, which may just be the most important opportunity of the forward's entire career.
Overall, Matthews is going to be very fun to watch this season, and we hope that he is able to get back to the 50 goal mark, at the very least.
Whatever the case, the captain has a huge opportunity in front of him, and fans are hopeful that he can have one of the best seasons of his career.
