For instance, there are now those who are trying to claim that Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl is a better goal-scorer.

There are two Maple Leafs podcasters out there who will not allow that kind of narrative to fester. Nick Alberga and Jay Rosehill of 'Leafs Morning Take' disagree wholeheartedly.

Recently, they took to their podcast to talk about the Matthews and Draisaitl debate. Below, you can see that they were unapologetic about putting Matthews on top.

Of course, they have a bit of a Toronto Maple Leafs bias, but they are still generally correct. Draisaitl has never scored 69 goals before, and Matthews is capable of over 70.

Auston Matthews is still playing some good hockey these days, and with a summer of rest, he should be good to get back to his old goal-scoring ways.

Whether or not he actually has a bounce back season, remains to be seen.

After all, he will not have Mitch Marner by his side, which is going to make his life that much harder. One has to wonder if he will be able to score a lot of goals without a solid right-winger.
