One of Brad Treliving's Top Trade Targets Wants to Play for the Toronto Maple Leafs

Brad Treliving's Toronto Maple Leafs have become top tier Stanley Cup contenders this season and there is one Seattle Kraken forward who is eager for that opportunity.
With the trade deadline coming up on March 7th, the Toronto Maple Leafs and their general manager Brad Treliving have a lot of work to do.
As currently constructed, this is a team that could contend for a Stanley Cup, but they still need some extra pieces to really put them over the edge.
Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs to make a trade
One area that certainly needs work is their bottom-six, and Brandon Tanev of the Seattle Kraken is a player who can certainly help with that.
Tanev has been linked to the Maple Leafs in the past, especially due to the fact that his brother Chris is already a defenseman on the team.
According to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, the forward has a modified no-trade clause and he is willing to be moved to a cup contender, which pretty well indicates that he wouldn't mind playing for the Maple Leafs if push came to shove.
"Brandon Tanev is generating interest from both Cup contenders and bubble teams. He has a modified no-trade the word from teams around the league is that he would prefer going to a upper-echelon contender. Obviously July 1 could be a different story as far as looking at potential fits elsewhere (Ottawa as a possible example)."
Tanev's production is modest with nine goals and eight assists this season, although you also have to take into consideration that the Kraken aren't great offensively.
With the Maple Leafs, the left-winger would have a much easier time getting looks, and what a trade for him boils down to is the fact that he is great on the defensive end.
He is the type of guy you can get into the trenches with, and that is exactly what the Maple Leafs need for the playoffs.
Moreover, the chance to play with your brother does not come often and we're sure the Tanevs would welcome the opportunity with open arms.
