One of Mitch Marner's Top Free Agency Destinations is No Longer Pursuing Him

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner has a big decision to make in a few weeks from now, and as it turns out, one free agency suitor is officially out of the running.
Having said that, Mitch Marner has a pretty lengthy wish list of teams. The Las Vegas Golden Knights, Los Angeles Kings, and Florida Panthers have all been theorized to be on that list.
Is Mitch Marner going to the Utah Mammoth?
However, one team that has also been theorized to be on that list is
none other than the Utah Mammoth. They are a team trying to build a fanbase, and what better way to do that than bringing in a superstar?
However, according to Chris Johnston, that is not going to happen. Quite simply, the Mammoth are not interested in taking a big swing for a major player.
Utah Mammoth unlikely to be a major player in free agency; want to be active but not likely to be the one to give out a "massive contract" to "one player in particular" on July 1 - Chris Johnston Show
(Note: Johnston didn't mention Marner by name, but that seemed to be the player he was referring to)
Whether or not Marner is upset about this remains to be seen. At this stage, it seems like he probably doesn't mind. After all, the Panthers and the Golden Knights are much better options.
Now, it is a question of just how much some teams are willing to pay for the forward. According to some reports, Marner could get over $14 million per season, which is more than
Leon Draisaitl.
Quite frankly, the market for Marner is getting a bit out of hand, but forwards like him do not come around often.
If you are a Leafs fan, you cannot help but feel like the superstar winger is as good as gone.
