Paul Maurice is gearing up his Florida Panthers for a big series against the Toronto Maple Leafs while Mitch Marner is now dealing with a significant family event.
On Sunday, Mitch Marner had to miss Toronto Maple Leafs practice as his wife Stephanie gave birth to their firstborn child, a baby boy.
Today, Marner revealed that the kid's name is Miles Daniel Marner and that he is a healthy baby. Leafs Nation is happy for the superstar forward, and some feel like he will be extra motivated against the Florida Panthers.
Game 1 goes down tonight in Toronto and there is no doubt that the fans are excited to see what the Leafs can do against the defending Stanley Cup Champions.

Panthers head coach Paul Maurice is trying to get his team prepared for the big game and a huge part of the scouting report is going to be Mitch Marner.
With some reporters believing that Marner will be better now that he is a new dad, Maurice was asked whether or not the Panthers are accounting for that tonight.
This subsequently led to a bit of a snarky response that shows just how little Maurice actually cares about this in relation to tonight's game.

Tonight's game is going to be very interesting, especially when you consider how the Maple Leafs are going to be coming into this one with home ice advantage.
This could be a huge win for the Leafs, or a crushing defeat. They will just need to dig deep and get good performances from everyone in the lineup.
That starts with Mitch Marner who has had some suspect performances in the NHL Playoffs over the years. Fans are going to want him to be at his best.
