Controversial NHL Insider Frank Seravalli helped build The Daily Faceoff into a significant player in hockey news but now, he is moving on entirely.
Frank Seravalli is someone who isn't exactly beloved by hockey fans, especially when it comes to his role as an NHL Insider.
Whether it be ruining the expansion draft or making some ill-advised comments about the death of Johnny Gaudreau, Seravalli has put his foot in his mouth on several occasions.
Having said that, he does have his fair share of sources and he is someone that people look to during big events like the trade deadline or free agency.
Frank Seravalli leaves The Daily Faceoff
Recently, Seravalli took to social media to reveal that as of July 1st, he would no longer be working with The Daily Faceoff, which is a shock to many.
Of course, the insider previously left his job at TSN in 2021 to pursue The Daily Faceoff which was a startup venture at the time. After building it for half a decade, Seravalli wants to pursue something else.
Personal news: My time @DailyFaceoff is winding down. My decision. It's been an incredible journey building a premier hockey media brand and I'm grateful for every second.
Like many in hockey, I'm a free agent on July 1 and can't wait to dig in on my next ventures. Stay tuned.
For now, it remains to be seen what Seravalli will do next. Overall, jobs in hockey media are not easy to find.
Due to the controversial nature of the hockey insider, there is no telling whether or not the big conglomerates like Rogers or ESPN are going to want to hire him.
However, he does have connections within the NHL and there is always a possibility of becoming a front office employee.
Only time will tell whether or not the insider lands on his feet and continues to provide fans with in-depth coverage of breaking news.
