Ryan Reaves Spites the Toronto Maple Leafs With the Nice Goal of His Entire Career

Ryan Reaves spent last season in purgatory with the Toronto Maple Leafs, even spending time in the AHL, before being traded to the San Jose Sharks in the offseason.
If you watched the Toronto Maple Leafs last season, you saw just how ineffective
Ryan Reaves was whenever he stepped on the ice.
Overall, the Maple Leafs ran out of favor with the forward, and once the trade deadline came around, the Leafs put him on waivers and assigned him to the minors.
When the offseason came around, the Toronto Maple Leafs traded Ryan Reaves to the San Jose Sharks for
Henry Thrun, and the rest is history.
Ryan Reaves thrives with the San Jose Sharks
Since Reaves is on a young rebuilding team, it should come as no surprise that he is getting a lot more playing time than he otherwise would have in Toronto.
In fact, over the weekend, the 38-year-old scored the nicest goal of his entire career as he made a nice play, broke out down the wing, and put it past the Anaheim Ducks goaltender.
It was a goal that could definitely be seen as at least a little bit spiteful to the Maple Leafs organization, who discarded him without a second thought.
At the end of the day, the Maple Leafs are better off without an enforcer who doesn't even fight. Not to mention, the Leafs need to get younger, not older.
Reaves' career is probably coming to an end soon, so scoring goals like this one will truly be the highlight of his career going forward.
Only time will tell whether or not the Sharks end up exceeding everyone's expectations this season.
