London Knights goaltender Austin Elliott had reportedly been invited to Toronto Maple Leafs training camp, although it appears as though plans have changed.
During the London Knights' Memorial Cup run this season, goaltender Austin Elliott was arguably their best player. Sure, Easton Cowan was a stud, but Elliott had a record of 54-3.
Through the Memorial Cup, he had a 1.74 GAA and a .936 SV%, and in the regular season, he boasted a .924 SV% and a 2.10 GAA.
Following his big moment, it was reported that Elliott had been invited to Toronto Maple Leafs training camp, where he would be able to compete for a job in the AHL.

Unfortunately, that information has been debunked by Joshua Kloke of The Athletic, who offered a clarification on social media earlier today.
Elliott himself has revealed that he was never invited to Maple Leafs training camp. Instead, he will attend Dallas Stars development camp.

Overall, this is a disappointing development for the Leafs, but the franchise itself won't care because they never invited the goalie in the first place.
The ones who are truly affected are the fans who were hoping for something good to happen amid all of the rumors surrounding Mitch Marner and free agency.
At the end of the day, Elliott is a promising goaltender, and we wish him a lot of luck with the Dallas Stars. We hope he can make a career for himself.
