Mitch Marner is no longer a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the team is doing its best to find a replacement on the first line's right wing.
With Mitch Marner gone, Auston Matthews needs someone to play with on the right wing. Overall, the Leafs have been trying to trade for a top-six player.
However, there are some options that the Leafs could use in-house. Of course, there is William Nylander, who has been the main goal-scorer on the second line.
Meanwhile, there is also Max Domi, who has been forced into being a center on the third line. Now, the Leafs have an abundance of bottom-six centers, which means Domi can reclaim his rightful spot on the right wing.

In fact, it turns out that Domi is the best replacement for Marner. As Willyston Riellander pointed out on X, Auston Matthews and Domi have dominant stats together.
They have consistently been able to outshoot and outchance opposing teams. This means they should absolutely get paired together.

A healthy Matthews is more than capable of absolutely tilting the ice with a lesser talent by his side.

A line of Matthews, Domi, and Matthew Knies would be intriguing. Unfortunately, it might prove to be tough with three left-handed shots on the same line.
Either way, the Leafs do have options, and the fans shouldn't be worried about this team floundering once the season starts.
Even if they can't acquire another top-six player, there are ways that this team can pull something together and perform.
Only time will tell what the team decides with its lineup going forward.
